The Neighbourhood Church is a group of believers called by God into our neighbourhoods.

 

We are formerly known as Southside Community Church. We changed our name to better reflect our true mission of being in, with, and for the neighbourhoods in which we live.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

An initiative focused on affordable housing, BC Builds is making homes more accessible for middle-income British Columbians. By using land from the government, community, and non-profits, along with low-cost financing and grants, they’re able to cut construction costs and speed up the building process. The Neighbourhood Church (Southside) stands as the biggest BC Builds project so far.

A development subsidiary of Graham Construction, Gracorp is active in multi-family, office, industrial, and commercial sectors. With a total revenue of $1.2B, they currently have 10 ongoing projects in Vancouver, Calgary, and Seattle. Inspired by God’s love, Journey Home creates caring communities that offer refugee claimants housing, settlement support, and opportunities for connection. They envision a society where all refugees experience hope and belonging as they engage in meaningful participation in their community and flourish in all aspects of life.

A determination to restore the God-given dignity of people by coming alongside men, women, and children to provide a hand up towards hope and recovery. The love of Jesus is demonstrated through education, job preparation, affordable housing, and preventative programs that build healthy families.

ENDING HOMELESSNESS

Providing leadership in the reduction of homelessness, The Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby offers several outreach sessions in the Edmonds neighbourhood including a Neighbourhood Food Hub and mobile shower program. The society values strong connections with several local, provincial, national, and international partners.
